Microsoft Azure Administrator Certification

Please note that this is not an asynchronous on-line track. Everyone is expected to log in every day all day according to the Winter Working Connections schedule. This is a synchronous track.

This on-line Working Connections event is intended solely for the person who registers. Link sharing is only permitted with the prior approval of the National Convergence Technology Center.

Description

This course teaches IT Professionals how to manage their Azure subscriptions, secure identities, administer the infrastructure, configure virtual networking, connect Azure and on-premises sites, manage network traffic, implement storage solutions, create and scale virtual machines, implement web apps and containers, back up and share data, and monitor your solution.

This track will help attendees prepare for the Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate AZ-104 certification.

This tracks runs two additional days beyond the December 13-15 Winter Working Connections schedule:

  • Thursday, December 16 - 9:00am-12noon, 1:00pm-5:30pm Central
  • Friday. January 21 - 9:00am-12noon, 1:00pm-5:30pm Central

Prerequisites

Knowledge of computer and network administration concepts including operating systems, virtual machines and disks, backup and restore, TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, and Active Directory.

Having some hands-on experience in AWS or other cloud providers will be helpful. For beginners, previous completion of the AZ-900 Azure Fundamentals course or exam is strongly recommended.

David Cobb is the principal consultant for Cobb Information Technologies since 1996 and a Microsoft Certified Trainer since 2002. David provides training and consulting on Azure, from an infrastructure, data & developer's perspective. From his background in SQL and PowerShell, he is focused on learning and sharing how cloud command line tools ca be a learning tool and career accelerator for cloud professionals

He is a CloudSkills.io Community author, and speaker at local South Florida user groups and events like Code Camp and SQL Saturday. He has served as a technical reviewer for books including ‘SQL Server 2014 with PowerShell v5’ and ‘Pro PowerShell for Microsoft Azure’.


Course Objectives

Upon completion of the course, students will be able to demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Technical knowledge and expertise in cloud computing; skill set required for the Azure Administrator.
  • Ability to implement, manage and monitor identity, governance, storage, compute, and virtual networks in a cloud environment.
  • Ability to provision, size, monitor and adjust resources as appropriate.

Please note that content is subject to change or modification based on the unique needs of the track participants in attendance.

This course will cover all of the material in Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate course, however, this is not a test prep course. Attendees who want to pass the certification test will need to spend time after the course to prepare for the certification test.
